Hello friends! I hope this post finds you and your family healthy and safe where ever you may be. The last few months have been very hectic, between working full time and school. Then in March, Covid-19 struck with a scary vengeance. In March I found myself desperately seeking… something. But I wasn’t sure what. Was it answers? Relief from the uncertainty?
In mid-March I realized I was missing human connection and wanted a way to give back to the community in some way during this troubling time. I thought for a long time, trying to figure out how I could achieve it. Then, through luck I received an invitation for a master’s class about holding virtual book readings for children. I attended mainly to see what I might learn and it turned out it was money well spent! Suddenly I knew what I could do to give back.
So today, I’m pleased to announce the first in a series of free (yep, free with no strings) virtual author events where I will entertain and educate. The first is Jason, Lizzy, and the Ice Dragon on May 2. There are three times scheduled depending on signups. This uses Zoom as a virtual platform and allows you to interact with me if you have a webcam and/or microphone. Don’t have those? That’s okay, you can call. All ages are welcome but the book is written for 6th – 8th graders. Younger children may need their parents help.
A reading of the first three chapters (about 15-20 minutes) will be followed by a live question and answer session where viewers can post questions and comments in the chat. I’ll even call on some people to talk with me live!
