This past weekend was The Peddler Show in New Braunfels. What a great event! If you’ve never been to a Peddler Show before, I highly recommend them. As an event organizer, this show was top-notch! Everything went so smoothly, and we had a great turnout on Saturday and Sunday.
In addition, the vendors at the show were all amazing. I made so many friends, had such great conversations and bought some really great products. I especially loved Sadie’s Secret Sauce, Shader Productions, and Lilla’s Hair. All their products are awesome!
I met some great people, sold a lot of sets and some individual books. One book will soon make its way to Japan courtesy of some very proud grandparents and I met some wonderful young readers who are very excited to dive into the stories.
This show really reaffirmed something important for me. As an author, reader feedback is a critical component of the writing process. I write my stories for myself first: they’re stories I want to read. They’re stories I’m passionate about sharing. But at the end of the day, I want to know the stories are loved by readers. I write to reach people. I write to touch hearts like mine has been touched by these stories. And I treasure it so much when that magic happens. Nothing means more to me than when a reader reaches out to me and says, “I found these stories so charming. I can’t wait for the next one!” I love the moment when a young child just lights up with excitement to read a new story. That magic is so important and I’ve missed it.
A few things to add. I’ve added the link to the Peddler Show below. Be sure to check them out. Their next stop is Robstown and I will be there. You don’t want to miss it and I’d really love to meet you all!
Also, hopefully you are following me on social media because my new book cover reveal is on August 14th at 12pm CDT! You don’t want to miss it 🙂
